Last updated: July 18, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how HG PC Techs (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you visit hgpctechs.com, contact us, or use our in-home tech coaching services.
1. Who We Are
HG PC Techs (also known as “The Tech Coaches”) provides patient, in-home digital coaching and tech support for people in Santa Barbara, Goleta, and Carpinteria, California.
- Email: hgpctechs@gmail.com
- Phone: (805) 755-8673
2. Information We Collect
Information you give us
When you fill out our contact form, call or text us, or email us, we may collect:
- Name
- Phone number
- Email address (if you provide one)
- What you’re interested in (for example, booking a visit or asking a question)
- What you need help with (for example, learning a device, cleanup, scam safety)
- Device type (Apple, Android, Windows, or “not sure”)
- Any message or details you choose to share
- Service address and scheduling details, once we arrange a visit
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our site and the tools that help run it may collect limited technical data, such as:
- Browser type, device type, and general location derived from IP address
- Pages visited and approximate visit times
- Spam-prevention signals from Google reCAPTCHA
Accessibility preferences
If you use our on-site accessibility controls (text size or high contrast), those preferences are stored in your browser’s local storage so they can be remembered on your next visit. This information stays on your device and is not sent to us as a personal profile.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Respond to your questions and contact-form submissions
- Schedule, confirm, and provide in-home coaching visits
- Call or email you about appointments and follow-ups
- Create the personalized large-print guides we leave after visits
- Protect the website from spam and abuse
- Improve our website and services
- Comply with legal obligations
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to run our business, including with:
- Formbackend — hosts and delivers our website contact-form submissions
- Google reCAPTCHA — helps prevent spam and automated abuse on the contact form
- Hosting / email providers — that help us operate the website and communicate with you
- Legal authorities — if required by law or to protect our rights, safety, or property
Service providers are expected to use your information only to perform services for us and to protect it appropriately.
5. Free Guides and the Scam Quiz
You can view or download our free guides and use our scam safety quiz without creating an account. The quiz runs in your browser and does not require you to submit personal answers to us. Downloading a guide may create a normal browser download history on your device.
6. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Our site may use essential cookies or similar technologies needed for basic operation, security (such as reCAPTCHA), and remembering accessibility preferences in local storage. We do not currently operate a third-party advertising cookie program on this site.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect parts of the site (for example, spam protection on the contact form).
7. How We Protect Your Information
We take reasonable steps to protect the information you share with us, including using reputable service providers and limiting access to people who need it to serve you. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. How Long We Keep Information
We keep contact and service records only as long as needed to respond to you, provide services, maintain our business records, resolve disputes, and meet legal or tax requirements. You may ask us to delete information we no longer need to keep; see Section 10.
9. Children’s Privacy
Our services are intended for adults and families seeking tech help — often seniors and their loved ones. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through this website. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Your Choices and California Privacy Rights
You may:
- Ask what personal information we have about you
- Ask us to correct inaccurate information
- Ask us to delete information, subject to legal or business recordkeeping needs
- Ask us not to contact you for non-essential communications
If you are a California resident, you may also have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), including the right to know, delete, and correct personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are commonly used under California law.
To make a request, email hgpctechs@gmail.com or call (805) 755-8673. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests.
11. Third-Party Links
Our website may link to third-party sites or services (for example, background-check badges or document viewers). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. We encourage you to read those policies before sharing information with them.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the website after changes means you acknowledge the updated policy.
